Why the world doesn't lag
Vintage Story is heavy.
Per-tick, per-chunk, per-player, VS asks more of a server than most games of its size. Generic "game hosting" hardware struggles. We run current-gen AMD Ryzen 9 (9950X and 9900X) for VS's specific profile: heavy single-thread work, big memory footprint, fast disk for chunk reads.
