Common questions about SkyFactory 5
We recommend 8 GB for SkyFactory 5. 3–8 players fits comfortably at that tier; bigger groups or heavy mob-AI scenarios benefit from bumping up. You can scale up free anytime. No rebuild, no downtime past a quick restart.
SkyFactory 5 runs on Forge. Lagless supports loader switching on the same plan, so if the modpack updates to a different version of the loader (or a different loader entirely) you can flip without provisioning a new server.
Medium-difficulty packs like SkyFactory 5 are CPU-sensitive. Single-thread performance and chunk-load speed matter more than raw RAM headroom. AMD Ryzen 9950X (5.7GHz boost) and 7GB/s NVMe handle SkyFactory 5 smoothly at the recommended 8 GB tier.
